Choosing The Best English Bulldog Breeders

Choosing The Best English Bulldog Breeders

English bulldog breeders are a unique bunch. I may be speaking with bias, but those that I have had the opportunity to work with were genuine. But keep in mind - many are not. Read on as we look for ways to choose the best breeder of your english bulldog.

If you are in the market for an english bulldog, I'm certain that you have done your homework in regards to learning about the breed, their health concerns, temperment, and necessary requirements for them to live a long healthy life.

But how do you go about choosing a reputable breeder ?

Your initial impressions here are probably your best asset. Does this breeder show love, knowledge and concern for the breed ? Do you get that impression when you speak with them ? Do they answer your questions with a detailed explanation ? Or...are they giving off the vibe that they are strictly in this business for the money? Use caution here. Don't let that baby bulldog steal your heart, and then hand over the money simply because you "can't live without" that puppy.

English bulldog breeders may even go so far as screening YOU as the perspective buyer. This process is almost similar to that of adopting a child. The attentive breeder will want to know things like how much you know about the breed, your living conditions (city or country, apartment or house, etc.) and if you have children or other pets. Don't take this as a sign that the breeder is overbearing and micro-managing your purchase. This breeder simply wants his "babies" to go to the best home environment.

A reputable breeder will back their claims and agreements in writing. They will provide written contracts detailing the pup's lineage, health conditions, preventative shots as well maybe even a return policy. Another sign of a breeder with integrity.

Lastly, the best english bulldog breeders will have nothing to hide. They will welcome requests to see the puppy's mother and father, their living and playing conditions and be up-front with health issues and testing. Many are just like proud parents who will boastfully show pictures and tell stories of all the bullys they have owned in the past !

Picking your new best friend is tough enough, but picking them from the right person is even tougher. Use these tips to evaluate your breeder. Take time to feel what vibe they give you, and if their heart is really in the breed - or just the money.

Do your homework, and you'll have no problems choosing the best english bulldog breeders !
